Blondie is made from the Blanc Du Bois grape grown at our vineyards. Blanc Du Bois is a French/American hybrid bred by John Mortensen in Florida and released in 1968. Because of its heat and disease tolerance and muscat-like aroma it has become popular among Texas grape growers.
Blondie is a dry, crisp, smooth, buttery white wine with hints of apple and grapefruit. It pairs well with fruit and cheese, and white meats such as chicken, turkey and light fish. It makes an excellent wine to enjoy on those hot summer days.
Blondie is named after our six beautiful blonde ladies in our family. The straw color of the wine reminded us of their hair especially when they were younger. Thus the name was born.
